MAINTENANCE
DELIMING
WARNING: DELIMING SOLUTION MUST NOT COME IN CONTACT WITH BLEACH OR RINSE
SOLUTION CONTAINING BLEACH USED IN THIS MACHINE. MIXING MAY CAUSE HAZARDOUS
GAS TO FORM. THIS ENTIRE PROCEDURE MUST BE FOLLOWED STEP-BY-STEP FOR SAFE
AND SATISFACTORY RESULTS.
The dishwasher should be delimed when needed. Frequency of deliming will depend on the mineral
content of the water supply. In areas where the water supply contains high concentrations of water
solids, frequent deliming will be necessary. Deliming should be done when you can see clear signs
of lime deposits (a white chalky substance) on the inside walls and on the wash/rinse arms. Inspect
the machine interior for lime deposits. If deliming is necessary, obtain a supply of deliming agent (such
as Lime Away or LSR) and follow the instructions on the package and the procedure below:
1. Make sure the machine is at the end of a cycle. Deliming is only possible after the completion of
a normal cycle.
2. Remove the standpipe assemblies from the sanitizer, rinse aid, and detergent containers and place
them as close to the floor as possible. Place a catch pan under them.
3. Press and hold the sanitizer priming switch until the sanitizer line is completely cleared. Repeat
this step for the detergent and rinse aid lines.
4. Run the machine through two complete cycles, leaving the sanitizer, detergent, and rinse aid
standpipes OUT of their respective containers.
5. Remove the dish rack from the machine.
6. Be sure machine has water in sump.
7. Turn the
POWER
switch Off.
8. Turn the
DELIME/NORMAL
switch (at the
rear of the control box, Fig. 21) to Delime.
None of the other machine functions will
operate in the delime mode.
9. Open doors, add deliming agent to the water
in the dishwasher, carefully following
supplier's instructions. The sump holds from
1.7 to 2.3 gallons of water.
10. Close the doors. Turn the
POWER
switch
On. The machine will run continuously until
the
DELIME/NORMAL
switch is returned to
Normal.
11. After the dishwasher has run for the recommended length of time, turn the
DELIME/NORMAL
switch back to Normal. The machine will complete its cycle in 90 seconds. CAUTION: Do not
allow deliming agent to remain in the machine longer than recommended by the deliming
agent manufacturer.
12. Inspect interior of machine for lime deposits. Repeat Steps 6 through 11 if necessary.
Continue with step 13 on page 15.
